I am one of the masses, broke, unemployed, living under the poverty line, and I live on California Ave in an apartment that I pay $420 a month for. There's plenty of non-affluent people here too, due to the buses, being 10 minutes from downtown, relatively low cost of housing...

I am going to have to agree wholeheartedly on this one. I have long since moved away from Seattle and still I dream of the garlic chicken. I have not found a joint that does it better.

You could pay a lot more for a house somewhere else in Seattle, too (I'm looking at you, Laurelhurst).
It's a buyer's market; right now Ravenna is littered with places that have been on the market a couple months.

My husband and I were playing here when all of a sudden he took a swing at the ball and it went flying out of the park and gave a concussion to a seagull.

I loved staying at the Crowne Plaza Seattle. It's located in the heart of downtown Seattle so I was able to walk to the Pike Place Market and catch the monorail to get to the Space Needle. My husband and I had a great time.

I remember when it was first built, there were a million rumors floating around about what it was supposed to look like. Most of them said that you had to be at the top of the Space Needle to see it - an ear, a smashed guitar, I don't remember what else.. Its been about 7 or 8 years now, and I think its become generally accepted that its not anything. Frank Gehry was just being cocky and thinking that he could draw up anything and people would think it was genius. No, Frank, its not. Its a three dimensional scribble. Seattle was not fooled.

I have recently realized that my financial skills are reversely proportional to my proximity to a Taco del Mar. I will sometimes actually plan my walking routes to specifically avoid them when I'm low on money, because I will end up getting a burrito if I pass it. If I'm not low on money though, it's a Super Veggie and a peach Snapple.
